We are looking for European Trip Leaders (Tour Guides/Tour Managers) to join our Topdeck Team for the peak summer season 2024. The role will be contracted on a trip-by-trip basis of varying lengths between May and October.
What does a Trip Leader do?
Together with their fellow Crew members, our Trip Leaders are responsible for the day-to-day running of Topdeck trips. This involves but is not limited to:
- Giving passengers top notch factual info on Europe. This means giving country and city introductions as well as conducting driving or walking tours
- Liaising with suppliers and the Topdeck head office
- Managing trip expenses
- Socialising with passengers and giving support where needed
- Initiating group activities
- Providing insider tips to passengers and assisting them to plan their own free time
- Respond to and follow all on-road incident management procedures
As a Trip Leader you can consider yourself an educator, a friend, a parent, a guidebook and an events planner rolled into one – and it goes without saying that you’ll always be a positive influence on the group.

How do you become a Trip Leader?
Eligibility
To apply you must be able to work in the UK and Europe. You must have:
- UK or European Union Passport
- Right to work in the UK or European Union. Please note that we are unable to accept applicants who possess or are eligible for a UK Youth Mobility Visa
Past experience in trip/tour leading or guiding is essential.
Core skills and competencies
As a Trip Leader you must:
- Be confident in public speaking
- Have relevant life experience to deal with difficult situations that might happen on the road
- Have a keen interest in European history and culture
Responsible and sustainable responsibilities
- A commitment to improving recycling processes, stopping the use of all single-use plastic and promoting the use of reusable items such as Tupperware and water bottles in our offices
- A commitment to utilise locally owned businesses where possible, and to improve the economic impact of the communities visited by Global Touring customers
- A commitment to utilising suppliers who support and adhere to Global Touring’s wildlife policy
- A commitment to protect our company culture of openness to all people regardless of gender, race, age, religion, etc…
